Fight for survival

Image
After the surgery, Emilia was completely exhausted and still had to recover from the anesthesia. We got some kitten starter milk and bottles in case she can't take care of the babies at first. The weakest baby was slightly undercooled and kept falling asleep. We warmed it up and woke it up again and again. While the first two began to drink slowly at the nipples, the last baby became weaker and weaker and was unable to search for the nipples. So we mixed the first-aid milk and kept putting the bottle in the baby's mouth. But it just wouldn't start sucking. We kept trying, and a few hours passed. We were very worried about it. But suddenly, it finally started sucking on the bottle! We were thrilled and kept putting it to Emilia's nipples. After a few attempts, the last baby also started nursing from Mom and fortunately grew stronger. The first night, we stayed by Emilia's side so she could rest and be safe. Emilia and the babies were visibly pleased, and we breathed ...

The Birth

Image
About 2 days later, it was finally time. Emilia began to scream loudly outside. I opened the door and saw that the back was completely wet and there was also a liquid on the street. I pulled out a towel; passersby had also heard her screams. A cardboard box was immediately fetched, and we went down to the garden with it. Unfortunately, it was quickly apparent that the babies were far too large for her, and the first one got stuck for a long time. One could only see the small tail sticking out and the baby was already out of the amniotic sac. The kittens are usually also still in their own amniotic sacs. Emilia pressed, but it was stuck. I tried to reach a vet, but no one was working at that time. I even called a veterinarian in Austri...

Highly pregnant Emilia

Image
Hello cat community! My mom Brigitte and I, Lisa, from Austria, were on vacation in Pag for a week and stayed in a studio apartment at Marija's House. The affectionate young pregnant cat, whom we later named Emilia, purred her way into our hearts from day one. She is a gentle and loving cat who seeks the company of people and enjoys every bit of affection. Naturally, in her condition, she also instinctively sought a quiet and safe place and desperately needed more food. So we started feeding her wet cat food and cat treats and providing her with a sense of security. You could immediately tell how grateful she was and she began purring. We knew it couldn't be long until the birth...

The inflammation in her eyes is disappearing. The eyedrops are working well. She's always nearby her kittens, only taking short walks while they're sleeping.
